For solo mobile detailers and crews of up to three vans: customers book online, see the price for their vehicle size, pay a deposit, and before you begin you record photos and video of the car and get the customer's agreement on your phone.

Solo detailer, full interior and exterior package. A customer books a mid-size SUV for Saturday 9:00 and pays the deposit. On arrival: 14 photos and a 40-second walk-around video, two existing scratches marked on the rear bumper, customer signs on the phone. After the job — after photos and the final invoice.
Choose your planA mobile detailer works out of a van, at the customer's driveway or office parking lot. Bookings come in by text, phone and social media messages, the price depends on the size of the vehicle and the package, and the day can fall apart when a customer does not show up. DetailBook puts the booking, the deposit and the inspection of the car in one place.
You start by listing your packages — for example exterior wash, interior detail, full detail, ceramic coating — and setting a price and a duration for each vehicle size. A customer who books a compact car sees a different price and a shorter slot than a customer with a full-size truck. You also set your service area and working hours, so customers only see slots you can actually reach.
The booking page asks for the vehicle, the address and the package, and takes a deposit at the moment of booking. The amount of the deposit is yours to choose. When the customer cancels late or does not show up, your rules for the deposit are already written on the booking page, so there is nothing to argue about.
Before the job you open the booking on your phone and record the condition of the car: photos from every side, close-ups of scratches, chips and stains, and a short walk-around video. You mark existing damage on the photos, and the customer confirms the inspection and your terms with a signature on your phone. If a question about a scratch comes up later, the record shows what was there before you started.
After the job you add the after photos, and the customer receives them together with the final invoice for the remaining amount. The history of each customer and each vehicle stays in the app — the next booking for the same car starts from what you already know: size, package, notes and past photos.
A crew of two or three vans sees all bookings on one calendar. Each detailer gets his own day with addresses in order, and the owner sees which jobs are done, which are paid and which still need after photos.
Reminders go out to the customer before the appointment, with the time window and what to prepare: access to water and power if you need them, keys, a place to park the van. Fewer surprises on arrival means fewer lost hours.
DetailBook is built for solo operators and small crews, not for fixed-location shops with many bays. It does not replace your insurance or legal advice on liability; it keeps a clear record of the car's condition and of what the customer agreed to.
